EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

Director of the Cent$ible Nutrition Program at the University of Wyoming.  CNP provides nutrition education to limited-resource families throughout the state.  For more information, visit www.uwyo.edu/centsible. Prior to serving as director, was Education Specialist for 15 months.

From 2001-Fall 2004 served as Education Specialist for Wellness IN (WIN) the Rockies, a community-based research, intervention and outreach project to improve health in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Educational materials developed can be found at www.uwyo.edu/wintherockies

From 1986-1991 served as University Extension Educator, Family and Consumer Science & 4-H/Youth. During that time, five years were in Big Horn County and ten years in Albany County.

SELECTED EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS DEVELOPED

Cent$ible Nutrition Curriculum: a series of sixteen lessons for adults enrolling in the program. Revisions have incorporated Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005, MyPyramid and a dialogue approach to learning.

Passports to Food Adventures: a youth day camp curriculum exploring food and cultures across the world. Revised existing five lessons to incorporate newer research and added sixth lesson with information from a Cent$ible Nutrition educator who had worked in Guatemala.

WIN Steps, 2004: guide for community-based pedometer walking programs.  Includes marketing, presentations options, newsletters, sample virtual walking routes, and evaluation tools.

WIN Kids Fun Days, 2004: interactive food, physical activity and body image activities for youth ages 9 years and older. Collection of 40 hands-on group activities designed for youth day camps or short events.

WIN Kids Lessons, 2003/2004: food, physical activity and body image lessons for youth ages 10 to 13 years. Series of 13 lessons for classroom and non-classroom use. Includes three 10-minute educational videos develop with teams of youth and an interactive trivia game.

Cook Once: Eat for 2 Weeks, 2003: educational packet on preparing and enjoying family meals. Includes recipes, outlines, copy of televised program, and conversation starter cards in Spanish and English.

A New You: Health for Every Body, 2003: adult food, physical activity and body image curriculum. Series of 11 1-hour lessons. Includes one educational video, educator scripts, handouts, slides, and evaluation tools.
