Research/Creative Endeavor: My research and creative scholarship interests allow me to combine my love for history, world textiles and travel. As one of the faculty designers in Family and Consumer Sciences I believe it important that I continue to improve my own design skills. Cloth art dolls are my chosen medium for design. I have received recognition for my work by having several pieces accepted for exhibition in traveling shows. Each piece tends to reflect some aspect of the social/psychology, historic or international style in dress. Although I have had some success in this medium I am also interested in sustainable apparel design and have recently started work in this area.

Along with my textile and merchandising colleagues I am committed to developing in students a greater global awareness, leading to an increase in socially responsible and sustainable apparel and design industries.
