TrainingThe Office of Diversity and Employment Practices offers different informational sessions, discussions, and trainings throughout the year. For a schedule of upcoming events, please view our calendar. If you would like to schedule a session just for your department or organization, please call or email our office. Given enough advance notice, we can also develop custom sessions relating to diversity, fair hiring practices, or other diversity/EEO-related topics. Contact us for more information. Sexual Harassment and Discrimination - Since 2004, the Employment Practices Office has been conducting training on sexual harassment prevention and UniReg 5, which outlines UW’s antidiscrimination policy. The training is mandatory for managers, supervisors, and faculty and it has been well received by those who have already attended. Employees who attended training of this type prior to 2005 may need to attend a refresher course. The requirement to attend a training session is important for two reasons:
Sessions are usually held on Wednesdays from 10am to Noon and from 2pm to 4pm. A list of scheduled training times is available on our calendar. Training can also be arranged for an entire department or group if desired. For more information please contact us via email or by calling 766-3459. Diversity Sessions - The Office of Diversity and Employment Practices is pleased to announce that we are developing a diversity session that will be available to all of campus. It will not be what you typically think of when you hear "diversity." Our goal is to make the session engaging, fun, and interactive. We plan to launch the sessions in late Fall 2008. More details will be available soon. Please call 766-3459 if you have any questions! |
