Biology Program

For students with more general interests, the Department of Botany and the Department of Zoology and Physiology jointly offer a major and a minor in Biology. The hallmark of the Biology Program is flexibility, allowing a wide range of courses to meet the student's goals. For more information on the Biology degree, please go to Undergraduate Programs.

The Environment and Natural Resources Program

Students majoring in botany or biology have the option of a minor (concentration) in the School of the Environment and Natural Resources. This program introduces students to the various approaches and contributions of different disciplines to environmental and natural resource issues. Unlike environmental studies programs at some other universities, the ENR option at UW builds on the expertise developed by majoring in specific subjects at UW.

K-12 Science Education

Botany collaborates with the College of Education in offering the Natural Sciences Program, which provides training in science and mathematics for prospective K-12 teachers.
