Botany Club

The Botany Club presents an opportunity for anyone interested in the botanical sciences (or just plants in general) to interact with the University of Wyoming Botany Department. Typically, we organize two or three informal meetings and publications of our newsletter, The Botany Banter, each semester. The Botany Club was created in order to provide information concerning scholarships and other academic opportunities, as well as ongoing events within our department.

To generate funds for the Club, we have two plant sales a year in the Williams Conservatory (shown here). These events are very well attended, and we usually sell out within a couple hours. This money goes towards out of town trips for the Club to such places as the Denver Botanical Gardens and various other destinations. It also provides funding for out of town seminar speakers, to support and sponsor the annual Christmas party, the May graduation get-together, and purchasing additional plants for both under glass and outside flower beds.

We encourage members or other interested people to suggest possible activities of the Botany Club.

For more information, Bill Higgins (treasurer and comrade), or Steve Miller (faculty adviser).
