RSO Funding Board

In an effort to improve the process through which Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) obtain funding, ASUW Student Government has created an RSO Funding Board. This new program, which will begin during the fall 2006 semester, streamlines the process to better serve student organizations.

Improved Timing

RSOs will no longer be required to submit budget requests in the spring for events planned for the upcoming academic year. Rather, funding will be available for programming and conference registration throughout the academic year. Organizations planning events in August, September, and October will be able to request funding in the spring.

Easier Process

RSOs will no longer be required to approach the Budget and Planning Committee for some requests and the Finance Appropriations Committee for others. All funding requests will be handled by the RSO Funding Board.

The ASUW Senate will not be required to approve requests for under $1,000. This eliminates one step in the process for RSOs.

Funding for New Organizations

In the past, newly formed RSOs or those that had never had a budget from ASUW were denied funding. This is no longer the case. All RSOs will have equal access to funding.
