On-going programs and activities sponsored by APUW include:
- Three issues per year of the
Wyoming Family newsletter,
keeping you informed on need-to-know student and university issues
- An annual
Handbook for Parents, providing one-stop information
on UW parent and student resources
- A toll-free Parents' Hotline
(1-800-733-2789) for quick answers to your questions and concerns
- The APUW Student Emergency Fund, source of immediate financial
assistance to students in emergency situations

For Parents Only, a newsletter for the parents of
incoming freshmen
- The DIA Shuttle, co-sponsored with other campus entities, to provide students with low-cost transportation to the Denver International Airport at key campus breaks and holidays
- Self-help brochures on a
variety of topics important to students including time management,
test-taking skills, procrastination, depression, and more
- Parent Orientation sessions held each summer in conjunction
with New Student Orientation
- James C. Hurst “Each Student—A Person” Award, honoring faculty
and staff who are exceptional in creating a caring community for UW
students

Wyoming Family of the Year Award, honoring families with a
sustained record of contributions to UW and the state of Wyoming
- Family Weekend, an opportunity each fall to share in your student’s
UW experience
