Minority Higher Education Day
Is a program designed to familiarize ethnic minority high school students with a college campus. This program provides high school students with leadership skills, financial aid opportunities, and an understanding of networking.

Minority Power Hour - A guide to success in higher education
Students and parents join Office of Minority Affairs and Admission staff members in a conversation about college admissions, financial aid and other opportunities for ethnic minority students, planning to attend college. Staff members travel from town to town during the month of January answering questions and motivating students on the importance of an education. (Refreshments are always served)

I'm Going to College!
Is a program designed to familiarize racial and ethnic minority elementary and middle school students with a college campus. It gives students and their parents a taste of the many different opportunities that await them at the University of Wyoming. Academic stations on campus illustrate the avenues of study and potential career areas available to those individuals who obtain a college degree.

Shadow of Success
This event is an exciting opportunity for ethnic minority students to obtain a real-life college experience. High school students will be paired up with minority students on campus and will shadow that student through two days of college classes and experiences. The program will began with a welcome dinner, , followed by a UW basketball game. The night concluded with a dance. The unique aspect of the dance is that students who meet all UW criteria will have their application fees waived and will have the opportunity to sign paperwork and be accepted to the University of Wyoming on the spot. The following day, high school students shadowed college students, attending classes, meetings, and other school functions. The program concluded with a late lunch and an informative session on future steps in preparing for college. Other than the cost of transportation, all accommodations, including room and board and basketball tickets will be provided free of charge for all students.

This program was a fabulous success and we will be repeating Shadow of Success next winter. Contact your school counselor, to attend.
